CPR W/ Naloxone Training

America is facing an opioid crisis. Approximately, every 8 minutes, on average, a person dies from an opioid overdose. On Wednesday, March 29 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Naloxone for over-the counter purchase. A prescription is NO LONGER required.

NARCAN® Nasal Spray is a medicine used for the treatment of a known or suspected opioid overdose emergency with signs of breathing problems and severe sleepiness or not being able to respond.

NARCAN® Nasal Spray is used to temporarily reverse the effects of opioid medicines. The medicine in NARCAN® Nasal Spray has no effect in people who are not taking opioid medicines.

In this course, you will learn:

  • To recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose.
  • The appropriate care to provide based on the person's breathing and level of responsiveness (CPR, Narcan Administration, etc).
  • How to give naloxone using Narcan ® Nasal Spray to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.

Hudson Valley Safety Associates, in conjunction with the American Heart Association, is dedicated to training people to respond to, and prepare for, opioid overdose emergencies.
